Secret Of Nappa Power

Watching a telecast of the battle from Kame House, Bulma bursts into tears seeing Yamcha die, while Puar faints from the shock. Master Roshi consoles Bulma, saying they can resurrect him with the Dragon Balls later on. Krillin, enraged at his friend’s demise, releases the Scattering Bullet, an energy blast that hits the Saiyans and destroys three of the remaining Saibamen, while Piccolo handles the last one as it lashes out at Gohan.

Vegeta and Nappa, however, come out unharmed, and start advancing on the Z Fighters. Nappa, however, volunteers to begin the battle himself. At random, he picks Krillin and charges towards him, but Piccolo appears in his way and fires a blast. Nappa dodges and delivers a kick to Piccolo during the confusion, sending him into a nearby rock, although Piccolo emerges relatively unharmed. Nappa, however, then begins powering up and his power level skyrockets. Again, at random, Nappa chooses Tien Shinhan and engages him in battle, though his strength has become so much that with a mere punch, he severs Tien’s arm. Tien valiantly tries to fight back, but is viciously pummeled. Determined not to let another comrade fall, Krillin rushes to Tien’s aid, but Nappa blasts a hole in the ground to stop him, apparently killing Chiaotzu in the process.

Chiaotzu sacrifices his own life in a futile effort to kill Nappa
Chiaotzu, however, catches Nappa off guard and latches himself onto the Saiyan’s back, slowly powering up in the process. Nappa smashes his back into several rocks to damage Chiaotzu, but Chiaotzu refuses to let go. As a last resort, Nappa flies towards some spiky rocks in an attempt to impale Chiaotzu. Chiaotzu telepathically communicates with Tien and bids him farewell before self-destructing. Nappa, however, emerges from the explosion unharmed, having put up a defense at the last minute, meaning Chiaotzu sacrificed himself for nothing.

With Yamcha and Chiaotzu gone, it seems as if Goku, who has just passed the halfway point of Snake Way, is truly Earth’s last hope against the Saiyans.

Secret Of Bardock Power

Consistent with Raditz’s quote in the chapter Kakarrot of the Dragon Ball manga as well as Frieza’s when he first met Goku in the chapter The Ultimate Battle Begins!, Bardock’s appearance is very similar to Goku’s: he has unkempt hair which partially stands on end, but Bardock has a scar on his left cheek, slightly darker skin and fully outlined, sharper eyes. Bardock’s oldest son Raditz inherits only his eyes and complexion. In Dragon Ball Minus, Bardock wears Battle Armor with shoulder pads and boots, while in Bardock – The Father of Goku, he wears a dark blue and green Battle Armor, and a green Scouter on his left eye. Later, Bardock adopts Tora’s blood soaked armband as a headband when he fights Dodoria’s Elite on Planet Meat. He retains the headband when he attempts to kill Frieza.

In Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru’s original character design, Bardock had a longer scar, his hair was more spiked (similar to Vegeta’s hair), his Battle Armor was a lighter shade of green, and it had three or four flaps at the waist, and did not wear the long-legged jumpsuit he has in Akira Toriyama’s final design for the 1990 TV special.

The author also comments that all he really did was take Goku and give him the brutal edge of a warrior race, and dress him in the Battle Armor provided by Freeza’s forces.[4]

In the computer game Dragon Ball Online, Bardock wears a black and golden armor with a strap around his neck, his pants are black instead of dark blue and he wears dark armbands along with the older ones, and dark leggings along with the older ones as well, features provided by the Time Breakers. Also, while being controlled, a white mask is given to him, with a symbol of the Time Breakers on its forehead, the eyes are also covered by the same symbol in black. While at this state, he is referred to as Time Breaker Bardock or Masked Saiyan, and when he is not wearing the mask anymore he is referred to as Xeno Bardock in Dragon Ball Heroes.

Secret Of Piccolo Power

Piccolo is a very tall and muscular Namekian. While greatly resembling his father/incarnation, he is noticeably shorter and somewhat thinner. He also has a more solid facial structure with less pronounced cheekbones and a straight nose. Piccolo only has four fingers in the Dragon Ball manga, but five in the anime series. Piccolo Jr.’s outfit when he was a kid is very similar to the one King Piccolo is first seen wearing, with the same color scheme shown on the Kanzenban manga covers. From the time he is a young adult onward, Piccolo wears a dark purplish blue gi with a sky blue obi (red in the manga). When not fighting seriously, Piccolo also wears a white turban and a white cape along with it.

Like Goku, Piccolo generally wears and trains with Weighted clothing. The cape itself is not weighted, but there is weighted padding underneath; this is seen twice in the series: when his cape is damaged while fighting Frieza in his second form, and when it is damaged by Lord Slug’s henchmen. As the series went on, Piccolo Jr.’s outfit became more his own and by the time he faced the Androids. The outfit’s neckline become more low-cut like Goku’s outfit, minus Goku’s own undershirt. In the manga, many of the movies, and certain video games (Supersonic Warriors 2 and Super Dragon Ball Z), Piccolo wears a red obi rather than a sky blue one.

Piccoloredblood

Even though Piccolo Jr. discards his old symbol, he uses it once in the series when he made his pupil Gohan a uniform after his previous outfit was torn in a Great Ape transformation. In a filler episode in the anime, when both of them are forced by Goku’s wife Chi-Chi to go to driving school, Piccolo wears an old outfit of Goku’s, which he despised wearing.

Secret of Krillin Power

Originally a jealous and selfish person, Krillin did not respect rules when confronted with Roshi’s training. After a short arch-rivalry between the two (years later, Krillin even admits that he hated Goku at first), he becomes Goku’s best friend and his selfish and jealous personality becomes more kind-hearted and generous (although he still has slight selfish and jealous traits after his reform). Krillin is often used as comic relief or cannon fodder by the author. As the most prominent full-blooded human character in the Dragon Ball series, Krillin also represents a sense of normalcy to Goku and Gohan, as well as often being the most identifiable. Often when things in the Dragon World turn bizarre, it is left to Krillin to shake his head in disbelief and crack a joke.

Despite his reputation as being a weakling compared to his Saiyan comrades, he is considered to be one of the stronger pure-blooded humans in the Dragon Ball series, being thousands of times stronger than the average person, in fact he is well into the superhuman league (although this is largely due to the fact that he was afforded much greater opportunities to increase his strength, such as gaining the ability to use ki, training under the Guardian of the Earth, and having his potential unlocked by Grand Elder Guru, things that no other human, such as Mr. Satan, ever had). Although he is not as strong as Goku or Gohan, his determination in helping his friends is a key asset. Furthermore, Krillin’s ingenuity and talent for ki-manipulation is far superior than that of most warriors, even those stronger than himself, and he has an ability to sense hidden powers. Krillin had his dormant ki awakened by the Namek Elder, Guru, during the events of the Namek Saga (although it is possible that not all of his power was freed, due to the fact that Gohan still had more hidden power and that they both grew to be much stronger), and this helped keep him among the same level as his more naturally powerful friends, at least for a little while. Krillin has trained hard most of his life, becoming extremely powerful and proving it in combat with many foes. Unfortunately, he is quickly outclassed by many of the other characters in the series, such as Piccolo and the Saiyans; though among all the full-blooded humans he faces in combat he is one of the strongest. On one occasion, during the course of the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, Yamcha says to Krillin’s daughter that Krillin is “the strongest human being in the world.” Some fans feel that the manga, Akira Toriyama, uses Yamcha to state a fact on this scene, as he also says that Krillin is the “strongest Earthling male” in an interview.[11] As it is spoken in the context of Krillin being married to 18, it implies that Krillin is the strongest Earthling at least by that point in the series (this claim gets support in the video game Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors in which the final part of Krillin’s story, which focus on the Majin Buu Saga, is titled as “The Strongest Earthling”). Many fans immediately will connect Krillin with his signature move, Destructo Disc, a spinning razor-sharp disk of energy that has the power to cut through just about anything. Despite its immense power, it is extremely unwieldy and hard to control.

KrillinMarronAndroid18WMAT
Krillin’s family
At any rate, Krillin is brave and resourceful, and the audience identifies him as a good-natured underdog. Along with Yamcha, Krillin has also, arguably, adjusted to a relatively normal life better than many of his friends by seeking women in his life. He is among the more “normal” human of his friends, as he can be seen wearing normal clothes on days where he’s not fighting, other than his typical martial arts dōgi, as well as engaging in other normal every-day activities such as watching TV, going to the beach, etc. In his role as Goku’s best friend, Krillin was among the only humans to remain a main character for the majority of the series, even as Master Roshi, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, Yajirobe, Chi-Chi and others faded into the background. Overall, Krillin is a highly valued character in the Dragon Ball series: powerful, loyal, and brave. He is second only to Goku in the most appearances in the manga. In some more recent movies however, Krillin has been since demoted to a comic relief character. This is most prominent in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!, when he was beaten up by Chi-Chi, clonked his head twice, had hot coffee spilled on his head, had his face fried by a stray energy bolt, had a large pile of snow dumped on him, had Vegeta sent flying into him, slipped and skidded past the main villain when he was about to attack him, and was humiliated in the hospital (he even remarks during the Vegeta incident that “Why do these things always happen to me?”).

Consistent with the theme of redemption in the series, he allows Vegeta to live rather than killing him, albeit reluctantly, during the Vegeta Saga, a decision that later proves righteous as Vegeta goes on to become one of the most beneficial warriors of the Z Fighters. Also he spares Android 18’s life when presented with the chance to activate her self-destruct sequence because he had a huge crush on her (though this put the whole planet at risk because she was later absorbed by Cell, which helped him complete his evolution). In a bit of ironic fortune, he later marries the beautiful android and later has a daughter named Marron with her.

KrillinOrinTempleBullied
Krillin being beaten up by bullies of Orin Temple
Originally a monk of the Orin Temple, after training there for eight years,[12] Krillin trained at the Orin Temple since he was four.[12] He was the weakest student and was frequently bullied. When he was 13, he was getting tired of the bullying and he began to travel to Master Roshi’s island when he was seeking training to surpass the people at the temple to defeat his bullies and to attract girls.[13] Krillin came to Master Roshi and became a student of the Turtle School in his first appearance in the series.

Krillin first appears on screen at the beginning of the Tournament Saga. He bribes Master Roshi with dirty magazines in order to be accepted as his student. Krillin’s initial desire for learning martial arts under Master Roshi was to become more popular with girls.

At first, he detests Goku, whom Krillin finds unintelligent and childish. It is to Krillin’s increased annoyance that he discovers that Goku is a more powerful fighter than him in every way. The only time Krillin is ever able to get the better of Goku is through trickery and deceit. Even then, his reward (dinner that evening) is unenviable when he eats fish cooked by Launch that gives him and Master Roshi food poisoning. Goku, in his characteristic naïveté, remains almost totally unaware of Krillin’s one-sided rivalry with him.

KrillinWorking

As their grueling training progresses Goku and Krillin bond and, by the time of the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament, become inseparable friends; this aspect of their relationship never diminishes. Goku is always there to offer the insecure Krillin confidence and support, as well as fighting tips, and Krillin is often on hand to offer a pragmatic perspective to the often overly innocent and idealistic Goku, as well as clue him in on basic social knowledge that Goku missed out on growing up.

In his and Goku’s first World Martial Arts Tournament, Krillin fares very well, even defeating bullies from his old training school by kicking one of them straight through a wall. He easily advances as one of the eight warriors going onto the main event. He makes it past the quarter-finals, defeating the disgusting Bacterian, as without a nose, Bacterian’s stink has no effect on him: at first, Krillin is overwhelmed by the odor of Bacterian. However, Goku reminds Krillin that he does not have a nose. After realizing this, he is easily able to overcome his opponent.[14] Unfortunately however, Krillin is defeated in the semi-finals, losing to Jackie Chun, who is Master Roshi in disguise.

After the tournament, he trains under Master Roshi again, although he takes a break to aid Goku in his search for the Dragon Balls and fight against the Red Ribbon Army. Krillin, Goku and Bulma enter a cave to find some pirate treasure, but are followed by General Blue, who confronts Krillin and defeats him in battle. During the battle, Krillin manages to kick Blue in the face, giving Blue a nose bleed, which just makes Blue much more intent on killing Krillin. Krillin is almost killed when Blue uses his telekinesis to freeze Krillin, however Goku manages to save him, and fights Blue. When Goku defeats Blue, the cave begins to collapse, but Krillin, Bulma, and Goku escape in a submarine, though General Blue manages to survive as well. Later on, Krillin, Bulma, and Goku soon return to Kame House with the ruby Bulma managed to retrieve from the Pirate Cave. However, the ruby is stolen by Launch, and General Blue, who had found Kame House, uses his telekinesis to tie up Krillin and his friends and steal the Dragon Balls while setting a bomb to explode soon. Luckily, Launch returns in her good state and unties Goku, who throws the bomb away and chases after General Blue.

Krillin also assisted Bulma, Yamcha and other residents of Kame house to help and save Goku who was on his way to fight the red ribbon army’s Headquarters. But they arrived late and were surprised at Goku defeating the entire army single-handedly in a head on battle.

Krillin eventually loses the battle by getting the blood sucked out of his head, causing him to lose consciousness and get kicked out of the area. However, Krillin cunningly comes up with the strategy that allows them to later defeat See-Through the Invisible Man. The side of Krillin that uses his wits, rather than his strength, to his advantage is seen many times in both series, particularly as he becomes comparatively less powerful.

After three years, when he meets Goku again at the World Martial Arts Tournament, Krillin hugs his best friend, saying he missed him. Eventually, Krillin fights Piccolo, the reincarnation/son of King Piccolo. Krillin lands some decent hits and manages to surprise Piccolo on several occasions, but quickly realizes Piccolo is far superior to him. During the match, Krillin reveals he can use the hovering space technique.[15] When Krillin falls for Piccolo’s Afterimage Technique, which Piccolo used to land a free hit on Krillin, it causes him to eventually give up. Krillin watches Goku and Piccolo spar out. When all hope for Goku seems lost when most of his limbs are broken, Krillin, along with Tien and the others, attempt to assist Goku, but are suddenly caught off guard by Piccolo, now knowing they cannot help Goku, as Piccolo would defeat them easily. When Piccolo is defeated, Krillin greatly criticizes Goku’s choice of giving Piccolo a Senzu Bean to heal his wounds, and watches Goku and Chi-Chi head off from the World Tournament area on the Flying Nimbus.

Five years have passed since Goku defeated Piccolo at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, he, Goku and Bulma attend a reunion at Master Roshi’s island, where Goku introduces them to his son, Gohan. While there, Krillin is as surprised as the others by the arrival of Goku’s brother, Raditz, who reveals Goku’s origins as a Saiyan and slaps Krillin into Kame House, taking Gohan with him. Krillin and Master Roshi offer to assist Goku in defeating Raditz, but instead, Piccolo makes a pact with Goku to team up against Raditz and then go their separate ways after. After Piccolo and Goku defeat Raditz, Krillin arrives to the scene and goes to Goku’s side while he is dying and watches his body disappear. Goku’s death causes great woe in Krillin, who yells out in sadness over his best friend’s death. He also witnesses Piccolo taking Goku’s son Gohan with him over to Break Wasteland to train, which Krillin could do nothing about, as Piccolo was too strong for him. When Roshi, Krillin, and Bulma return to Kame House, Krillin and Roshi discuss the true threat they face from the new Saiyans invading in a year. Roshi asks for Krillin to inform Chi-Chi of Goku’s death and Gohan’s kidnapping. Although he visits her, his fears of upsetting and angering Chi-Chi overcome him and he never actually reveals her what happened.

Soon, Yajirobe visits Kame House on a demand from Korin to inform Krillin that Kami, the guardian of the Earth, has requested his arrival so they can train together for the one year they have left before the Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa arrive. At first, Krillin incorrectly speaks Yajirobe’s name, but is soon corrected. After gathering his companions, Krillin, along with Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, and Yajirobe train with Kami and Mr. Popo. They do this in order to raise their power levels enough to be able to hold their own against the Saiyans. Like the others, Krillin’s power grows exponentially during this year, until he is far more powerful than Raditz ever was. When the Saiyans arrive, Krillin, Tien, Chiaotzu and Yamcha join Piccolo and Gohan to hold Vegeta and Nappa off until Goku’s arrival.

Piccolo, Vegeta, and Nappa are all impressed with the sheer power of his attack, but it is not fast enough to work on the Saiyans. The battle continues, with Chiaotzu and Tien falling. Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan come up with a plan to grab Nappa’s tail to weaken him, then while he is off guard, they blast him. However, the plan failed as Nappa had already trained his tail from attacks. Eventually Piccolo dies, taking Kami and the Dragon Balls with him, rendering Krillin and Gohan the only ones left to fight.

On the way back home Gohan decides they can not let Goku face this danger alone. They go to Gizard Wasteland (Krillin coming just so Gohan does not get hurt) and are able to help Goku with the Spirit Bomb he creates to defeat Vegeta; Krillin throws the ball, missing Vegeta, but Gohan bounces it back and it hits the Saiyan Prince, damaging him.

Goku tells Krillin not to and he explains that it is not right as Vegeta is now defenseless and may turn over a new leaf as a result of being spared, and also so that he may be able to fight him once again, impressed by Vegeta’s strength. Krillin is understandably incredulous over Goku’s compassion for the man who almost destroyed the planet and scoffs at the idea that Vegeta is capable of turning over a new leaf, but he ultimately, and reluctantly, decides to trust Goku’s judgment and let Vegeta go.

With Piccolo, and thus Kami, dead, the Dragon Balls have become inactive and thus the Namek Saga begins, with everyone mourning the seemingly permanent deaths of Piccolo, Kami, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu. Fortunately, Krillin comes up with an idea. If the Dragon Balls were created by Namekians, then they could travel to Piccolo’s home world, planet Namek, to use the Namekian Dragon Balls to wish Kami, and thus, Piccolo back to life. While Krillin recovers from his injuries in Wukong Hospital Mr. Popo shows Kami’s old spaceship and its incredible speed to Bulma. Afterwards, Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan head off in the spaceship towards Planet Namek, to start their mission. After a few detours on their way there, the trio arrive and discover that this peaceful planet is under siege by the galactic overlord, Frieza, the employer of the Saiyans and destroyer of Planet Vegeta (Goku and Vegeta’s home world). To make matters worse, Vegeta is on the planet as well. Both are also after the Dragon Balls for immortality, and Krillin and Gohan discover that there is much more at stake than the lives of their departed friends. After watching Frieza’s soldiers butcher several Namekians, Gohan and Krillin rescue a young Namekian named Dende from Frieza’s henchman Dodoria and have to outrun Dodoria himself, eventually escaping by using the Solar Flare. Afterwards, Dende takes the two warriors to Grand Elder Guru, guardian of Namek, who is able to release the hidden ki potential inside them, causing their power levels to raise, once again, exponentially.

Newly powered-up, a complex three-sided game of “Capture the Dragon Balls” ensues between Krillin and Gohan, Frieza, and Vegeta.

He helps in the battles with Guldo and Recoome, managing to hit Guldo with a few blasts before Guldo time-freezes him. When fighting Recoome, Krillin kicks him in the back of the head to defend Vegeta from the Recoome Eraser Gun. Because of this intervention, Recoome’s attack backfires, knocking out all but six of his teeth. Angered, Recoome retaliates by kicking Krillin in the back of the neck, more specifically the base of the spine, which puts him out of commission until he is healed by a Senzu Bean when Goku finally arrives on Namek.

After learning of the trouble on Namek, Goku (who had been recovering in the hospital) is healed quickly by a sensu bean from Yajirobe and arrives to help. He makes quick work of the Ginyu Force, a group of mercenaries under Frieza’s employ, but is badly injured and taken by Vegeta to be recovered in a healing tank.

Krillin, Gohan, and Vegeta recover the Dragon Balls but Vegeta is unable to wish for his immortality without the password. Krillin leaves to get the password from Guru, but encounters Dende, who informs him the password is “Porunga”. They return and, with Vegeta asleep, decide to just make their own wish now. In the Namekian language, Dende wishes for Piccolo to be returned to life and brought to Namek. This causes Kami to return to life on Earth as well, and Master Roshi begins steps to gather the newly restored Earth Dragon Balls.

Vegeta awakes a short time later and is enraged that his immortality has been taken from him, but Krillin and Gohan are saved by the arrival of Frieza, who demands their immediate attention. Frieza transforms in his second, more powerful form, and attempts to attack Dende, who is pushed out of the way by Krillin, who inturn, is quickly skewered on Frieza’s horn and left for dead. He then turns his attention onto Gohan and starts badly thrashing him. With Frieza distracted, Dende uses his healing abilities to save Krillin.

Enraged at his lost tail, Frieza charges after Krillin, catching up to him easily. Krillin knew he needed to keep Frieza distracted long enough for Dende to save Gohan. He tricked and evaded Frieza for quite some time, eventually using a Solar Flare, to temporarily blind him. This is another example of Krillin’s tendency to outwit opponents that he can not outfight.

While Frieza is distracted, Vegeta urges Krillin to try to kill him, which would grant Vegeta a zenkai to raises his power. Krillin is reluctant to attack Vegeta, but sees no other way and so he fires a beam through his stomach. He then asks Dende to heal Vegeta, but Dende refuses, which worryies Krillin, who knows that Vegeta may very well die. Eventually, Dende is convinced by Piccolo and Vegeta is healed, much more powerful than before.

Frieza finally gets wind of Dende’s healing ability, and so the tyrant kills him. Goku arrives back on the scene, and is enraged after witnessing Vegeta’s horrible murder at the hands of Frieza. Goku and Frieza then do battle, and although Goku puts up the best fight that Frieza has ever seen, he is still unable to defeat him. Enraged at how much of a challenge Goku has proven to be, Frieza, after surviving the Large Spirit Bomb, lashes out at Goku’s friends, badly injuring Piccolo and viciously murderes Krillin by blowing him to pieces with kiai.

The death of his best friend completely infuriates Goku, as he believes that Krillin can never be returned to life, as Shenron cannot grant the same wish twice. When Frieza pushes the final button by declaring that he will kill Gohan next, Goku’s anger explodes and he transforms into a Super Saiyan for the first time, granting him the power to defeat Frieza. In a desperate ploy Frieza attempts to destroy the planet, knowing that while he can survive in the vacuum of space, Goku cannot. Although Goku defeats Frieza, and although the rest make it off the planet, Goku appears to be killed with the planet’s destruction.

Sometime after Garlic Jr.’s defeat, Krillin attempts to perfect his Kamehameha technique to get his mind off the breakup with Maron, but he realized that his Kamehameha techniques still were not good enough when he ended up causing a tsunami instead of splitting the waves. He was not told off for it by Master Roshi because he was asleep during that time and thus missed it. He later sensed that Frieza and his father King Cold were approaching Earth, and after contacting Gohan, he left for a specific spot at Northern Wastelands, close to where Frieza would arrive on Earth. After Frieza and King Cold’s defeat, Krillin learned of the threat of the Androids from the boy who defeated them via Piccolo. It was later revealed to him that the boy came from the future and was named Trunks.

Goku, who came back from Planet Yardrat, showed him and the other Z Fighters the Instant Transmission technique, taking Roshi’s sunglasses and giving them to Krillin.

Krillin is ambushed and attacked by Android 20
During the events of the Android Saga, Krillin, along with the other Z Fighters, trained hard after Future Trunks regaled them with a grim tale of events that would soon unfold. When the day of reckoning did arrive, Krillin was right on the scene with his friends, ready to defend the Earth. When Goku battled Android 19, Krillin watched in horror when the heart virus began to take its affect on the Super Saiyan. Though Krillin attempts to aid his friend with a Senzu Bean, his efforts are futile. After Vegeta arrives and kills Android 19, Android 20, really the robotic body of Dr. Gero, attempts to escape, knowing that both Piccolo and Vegeta could easily kill him. The Z Fighters give chase, and Krillin is the first to find him near his laboratory.

Krillinand18
A terrified Krillin is kissed by Android 18
Krillin quickly realizes he is outgunned, and Dr. Gero attacks him without any restraint. Shortly after, Krillin watches Dr. Gero enter his lab and releases his ki to signal the other Z Fighters. Piccolo and Tien are first on the scene, proud of Krillin for finding it. Just as they begin their assault, Krillin informs them that Dr. Gero beat him to the lab. This angers Piccolo. Once inside, Dr. Gero releases Android 17 and Android 18. They then kill the doctor and release another of his creations, Android 16. While the Z Fighters battle with the powerful machines, Krillin stands back in horror, knowing that he would be no match for them. The androids defeat the Z Fighters with relative ease, and head off to kill Goku. Krillin attempts to talk them out of it, but fails. However, Android 18 walks up, wishes him good luck, and kisses him on the cheek.

A short time later, Krillin and Future Trunks destroy Dr. Gero’s laboratory along with the early stage of the evil bio-android Cell. Meanwhile, after merging with Kami, Piccolo gave chase to a fleeing Cell, knowing that he must stop the creature from absorbing 17 and 18. Tien and Krillin join the hunt, and once again, Krillin is the first to find the enemy. In filler, he saves a woman and her younger brother from Cell, just as the monster was about to absorb them. He gives them enough time to get onto an airplane, and uses Solar Flare on Cell to escape with them, but Cell catches up. Krillin then proceeds to attempt and fight Cell only to be smashed through the airplane. Just before Cell nearly kills Krillin, Piccolo and Tien then arrive, and Cell flees once again.

KrillinVsCell01
Krillin attacks Perfect Cell to no avail
After Cell is successful in absorbing Android 17 and reaching his second state, Bulma creates a remote that can shut down Android 18 so that Cell could not absorb her. She instructs Krillin to be the one to do it, but upon arriving at the battle scene, he sees how frightened she is, and he remembers the kiss she gave him. He then throws the controller to the ground and smashes it, revealing that he had fallen for the beautiful android. Then Cell uses the “Solar Flare” technique to blind everyone present and starts absorbing 18. Then Krillin begins attacking Cell head on, attempting to save her, but it was too late, and Cell reaches his “Perfect” form. Out of anger, a heart-broken Krillin foolishly attacks Cell, only to be smashed away in seconds. However, he did manage to sense a large bulk of Cell’s power that he kept hidden a split-second before being kicked away by Perfect Cell, causing him to warn Future Trunks about his hiding his overall power upon being fed a Senzu Bean.

When the day finally arrives, Goku is the first to battle Cell. After a long and intense battle, Goku forfeits, and tells Gohan that it’s his turn to fight. In order to unleash Gohan’s anger, Cell spawns seven Cell Jr.s. They then proceed to attack the Z Fighters, including Krillin. With all this, and Cell’s murder of the peaceful #16, Gohan’s anger explodes and he transforms into a Super Saiyan 2, and causes Cell to cough up Android 18 and revert to his second form after being kicked in the stomach by Gohan. Krillin immediately tends to her side, much to Vegeta’s surprise and objection, (presuming Vegeta was still bitter about his first fight with Android 18), and calling Krillin a fool. Cell later attempts to self-destruct, only to be teleported away by Goku, killing himself in the process. Cell manages to survive and returns to Earth. Krillin, along with Piccolo, Tien, and Yamcha all join forces to help Gohan against the newly empowered Cell. Krillin, like the rest, is brushed off by Cell’s energy multiple times. Finally, after Vegeta provides the distraction needed, Cell is put down by Gohan for good in a Kamehameha wave struggle.

She then reveals herself looking very angry towards Krillin, but then replied that it was a very nice thing he did for her, showing that she may have a soft spot for Krillin after all. She leaves, as do the rest of the Z Fighters, off to continue their lives.

Krillin enters the World Tournament along with Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, 18 and Videl and wins his first match up against the boastful Pintar without exerting himself. While training the boys, Babidi and Buu head towards West City, the location of the dragon ball radar and the Z Fighters only shot at reviving the dead. He then proceeds to kill and eat all of the present company on the Lookout, including Krillin, who attempts to fight Buu to buy time for the others to escape. After Krillin is eaten by Majin Buu, he is sent in the Other World. There, he trains with King Kai until Kid Buu appears. Buu overwhelms Pikkon and Olibu quickly, and Krillin risks his existence by attacking him from behind with his Destructo Disc, only to find that the attack has no effect at all (Yamcha remarks at how “it would have worked on anyone else but him”). He then is thrashed around by the monster, and is almost destroyed when Buu is drawn away by Goku and Vegeta to the Sacred World of the Kais.

During the battle with Kid Buu, Dende uses the Dragon Balls to wish all those killed by Buu back to Earth (which was also just brought back after being blown up by Buu). Krillin as well of all of Earth’s people transfer some of their energy to Goku’s Super Spirit Bomb. Soon after, Goku launches the bomb, finally killing Majin Buu once and for all. The people of Earth and the Z Fighters then continue their lives, all together, at last.

Secret Of Yamcha Power

Yamcha is originally characterized as a deadly warrior, who fears nothing but talking to women. After befriending Goku and the others, his personality remains mostly the same, but becomes very caring and considerate of the people he protects. He is showcased as a courageous warrior who strives to be the best, but is unable to reach this status, a fact that appears to plague him. He has a great network of information, recognizing Goku’s Power Pole as Grandpa Gohan’s during their first fight.

Yamcha is a huge fan of the World Martial Arts Tournament and has always wanted to compete and someday win.[20] It is likely this is why he has knowledge of famous fighters like Grandpa Gohan, Monster Carrot, Bacterian and King Chappa. Whenever the tournament date neared, Yamcha would always go through vigorous training and invent a new technique like the Blinding Wolf Fang Fist, Neo Wolf Fang Fist and the Spirit Ball. He is the second fighter to learn the Kamehameha since the beginning of Dragon Ball (after Goku).

Yamcha DBZ Ep 127 002
Yamcha during the Androids Saga
In early Dragon Ball Z, he shows great pride in defending Earth from the Saiyans, willing to put his life on the line to stop them; which he evidently does. Although he is killed, he dies a hero’s death. After returning from the dead, he prepares to battle the Androids. In early Dragon Ball, Yamcha had a fear of women and tended to get terrified at the sight and touch of a woman, although he seemingly got over this after meeting Bulma when they were 16. They have a on-and-off again relationship for several years and despite her supposed mistreatment towards him, he still loved her. However, his love for her was unable to prevent him from becoming interested in other women. During the three years prior to the Androids’ arrival, he and Bulma break up for good (though they remain friends) and she ends up with Vegeta, which frustrated him, especially at Vegeta for fathering her son, Trunks. His resentment towards Vegeta is apparent in the Androids Saga and Cell Games Saga, as he speaks bitterly that he is not Trunks’ father and mocked Vegeta for being beaten by Cell. However, after seeing Vegeta’s emotional reaction to Future Trunks’ death, Yamcha forgave him and is later seen being friendly with Vegeta. Yamcha is also on good terms with Trunks and tells Future Trunks that his father really loved him.[21] After being nearly killed by Dr. Gero, he takes more of a comical approach and becomes largely outmatched in battle due to the ever growing power of the enemies the Z Fighters face. It appears whatever passion and resolve for fighting he had disappears with the emergence of the Super Saiyans, who severely outclass him in fighting ability and he eventually comes to accept this. After realizing that his enemies severely overpower him, unlike Tien, who wishes to fight despite the odds, Yamcha accepts that his contribution would be futile, and instead opts to stand aside and keep watch, instead of engaging in combat. Despite this fact, he remains a trusted ally and will fight on occasion when needed. During the latter half of Dragon Ball Z, he retires from fighting, but continues training and goes off on his own.

In Dragon Ball Super, it is revealed Yamcha actually has grown stronger and has been training. However, he uses his strength for baseball rather than fighting at this time. During the Universal Survival Saga, Yamcha overhears Goku and Gohan’s conversation, which implies that his passion for fighting still lingers especially in the upcoming Tournament of Power (although he plans to refuse their offer at first and then show up at the last minute to make a flashy entrance). When learning that he wasn’t picked as a member for the Universe 7 team, Yamcha doesn’t take it personally and wishes them luck at the Battle Royal.

Yamcha expressed a strong desire to get married, which was the reason why he wanted to cure his fear of women.[22] He also expressed excitement at the thought of starting a family.[23] The Dragon Ball: Bouken Special book, released during the King Piccolo Saga, says he is nervous around women except for Bulma. In the manga, Future Trunks states during the Trunks Saga, that Yamcha was “too non-committal” which caused Bulma to break up with him in his timeline.

Future Trunks states that after Bulma and Yamcha broke up, Yamcha found a new girlfriend. Although she never appeared in any Dragon Ball media, Yamcha’s new girlfriend is mentioned at the end of the Cell Games Saga, when Shenron asks for a wish and Yamcha jokingly proposes he wish for a necklace for his girlfriend. Despite originally saying it was his dream to get married and Trunks saying that he found love again, Yamcha appears to be single in Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT.

Yamcha battles Goku

Yamcha is introduced in the Emperor Pilaf Saga as a 16 year old bandit that lives in Diablo Desert along with his companion, an anthropomorphic cat named Puar, and robs travelers who pass through. He ambushed Goku, Bulma and Oolong in order to steal their money and capsules. When challenged by Goku, they fought, with Yamcha using his signature technique, the Wolf Fang Fist, seemingly knocking Goku out. However, it only injured Goku. Then, Goku starts to have the disadvantage when he starts to get hungry, which drains his power. As Yamcha was about to defeat Goku, he spots Bulma and makes his retreat, due to his extreme fear of women. Yamcha returned to their camp that night and, while spying on them, learned of the Dragon Balls and their ability to grant a wish. He then decided to steal their Dragon Balls and make a wish to overcome his phobia, as he dreams of getting married. He and his companion Puar broke into the group’s van that night to do so, but were foiled when the orbs under the sheet which Yamcha thought were Dragon Balls were actually the breasts of a nude and sleeping Bulma, causing him to leave in a confused daze. He attacked again the following day, by knocking over the group’s van with a panzerfaust, but was again challenged by Goku and retreated when Goku damaged his vanity by knocking one of his teeth out. Yamcha’s attack to the wagon had still done its damage so Goku’s group was forced to leave it behind and walk. As Shu had earlier planted a bomb in the van which exploded shortly after it was abandoned, Yamcha’s actions had inadvertently saved Goku.

Realizing that he could not beat Goku, Yamcha instead decided to let the group collect all seven balls and then take the wish. He again came to the group, this time apologizing for his behavior, and gave them a car to make up for damaging their van. The car, of course, had a tracking device in it.

Yamcha knocks Chi-Chi out
While on the group’s trail, Yamcha encounters a mysterious girl who destroyed a T-Rex and was frightened by Yamcha and attacks him, causing him to retaliate and knock her out. Later, when eavesdropping on Goku’s conversation with Ox-King, he realizes that the girl is Chi-Chi, Ox-King’s daughter. Not wanting to face the wrath of an angry Ox-King, Yamcha races back to the scene and apologizes to Chi-Chi, saying he did what he did because he is crazy with love for her. He quickly hides when he sees Goku coming and, by luck, witnesses Chi-Chi pull Goku’s tail, exposing his weak spot. Yamcha returns to Fire Mountain and remains hidden as Goku returns with Chi-Chi and Master Roshi, the legendary martial arts master who trained both Ox-King and Goku’s grandfather, Grandpa Gohan. He is awed by Master Roshi’s display of the Kamehameha, an energy wave Master Roshi used with the intention of putting out the massive fire at Ox-King’s residence, but instead, destroyed the castle and the entire mountain it was on. He also can not help, but be somewhat envious after Goku is chosen by Master Roshi to be his disciple.

YamchaVsRabbitMob
Yamcha comes to Goku’s aid against the Rabbit Mob
Yamcha continues to tail the group, letting it slip in front of Puar he thinks Bulma has a beautiful voice, after they recover the sixth Dragon Ball from Ox-King into a remote village. There, he has to intervene and help Goku after Bulma is turned into a carrot by Monster Carrot, leader of the Rabbit Mob. He orders Puar to turn into a bird and rescue the hostage carrot-Bulma while he takes out Monster Carrot’s two henchmen. Working with Goku, the two recover carrot Bulma and through Puar’s trickery get Monster Carrot to change her back. Yamcha quickly hides again after this, letting Goku deal with the gang without having to worry about Bulma’s safety. While watching Bulma’s disappointment at his absence, Yamcha silently curses his shyness around her.

Yamcha Emperor Pilaf Saga

When Shu ambushes Goku, Bulma and Oolong, stealing five of their six balls along with destroying their car with his Pilaf Machine, Yamcha has to again intervene, this time joining the group. They track the balls to Pilaf’s Castle, but are soon trapped. From a hole blasted in the wall by Goku they witness Emperor Pilaf summoning Shenron and Yamcha orders Puar to go with Oolong and stop it. Emperor Pilaf’s wish is interrupted by Oolong and, as punishment, the group is moved into a giant solar-oven like cell to die the next day when the sun comes up; they are not contained long though before Goku transforms into a Great Ape and destroys their cell by the light of the full moon.

Yamcha puts aside his timidness around girls to save the group
To get the group to safety, Yamcha is forced to pick up Bulma despite his girl phobia. Just as Goku is about to crush Bulma, pinned by some rubble, Yamcha comes to the rescue and grabs his tail, stunning him long enough for Puar to transform into a giant pair of scissors and cut the tail off, returning Goku to his normal state. The next morning, with the balls now inert, the gang goes their separate ways. Yamcha and Bulma are satisfied though, as they now have each other and, therefore, no need to make any wishes. They go with Bulma back to the city while Goku goes off to train with Master Roshi.

Yamcha in the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament
Excited about the Martial Arts Tournament, Yamcha goes to the wilderness to hone his skills. After a month Yamcha returns and saves Bulma from getting hit by a truck. Bulma does not recognize Yamcha at first due to his beard and disheveled appearance. When she does realize its him she is both happy and annoyed that he did not call or contact her during his long absence.

Yamcha next meets up with Goku at the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament where he says he had a haircut at Bulma’s request. Yamcha makes it to the quarter-finals, but is eliminated by Jackie Chun, who dodges all of Yamcha’s attacks and knocks him out of the ring by creating a powerful wind with a hand chop. This level of power, along with the physical likeness, causes Yamcha to suspect Jackie Chun is Master Roshi in disguise, before Roshi solicits Nam to wear a fake beard and convince Yamcha that he is not Roshi.

When the smoke clears, Goku is nowhere to be found, and Yamcha and his friends start to cry. Fortunately, it turns out Goku was just knocked out asleep. After Jackie Chun wins the tournament, Yamcha and the others celebrate by going out to dinner on Roshi’s tab.

Yamcha and the gang just before their encounter with Hasky

After the tournament, Yamcha returns to West City with Bulma and the others. Bulma gets angry at him because the other girls in the city are all over him. When Goku was flying on the Nimbus on a tour to West city, he (and Bulma through the Micro Band) comes across Yamcha, Oolong, and Puar. Oolong and Puar tell Goku that Bulma has been treating Yamcha badly. Yamcha says this is true, but he still likes her. Bulma resizes herself after hearing these comments, gets angry at Yamcha again, and heads alone to the Dream Land amusement park. Yamcha is upset by this, but goes with Goku, Oolong, and Puar to the amusement park anyway. On the way, the two save a fortune teller from thugs. However, it is actually Hasky, a thief hired by the Red Ribbon Army to take the Dragon Balls. Hasky has a bunch of failed attempts to steal the Dragon Balls, but no one catches on.

YamchaVSHasky
Hasky attempts to seduce Yamcha
Eventually Goku leaves the Dragon Ball with Yamcha. Seeing her chance, Hasky attempts to seduce him, but Yamcha finds out she’s a fake by coming across the real fortune teller. Hasky attacks Yamcha with a sword and he fights her off. Unfortunately, Bulma comes across them and in her view it looks like the two are kissing. Bulma hurls a cabinet at Yamcha right as he just beat Hasky and stomps off. This allowed Hasky to tie up Yamcha and take the Dragon Balls, but not before revealing she planted a bomb in the park. Yamcha later helps Goku take care of Hasky, get the Dragon Balls back, and defuse the bomb.
But due to the incident with Bulma, Yamcha’s already strained relationship with her was strained even further and she left with Goku to find a new boyfriend with the Dragon Balls.

Later on, after Goku defeats the entire Red Ribbon Army, Yamcha and the rest of the gang rush to help him in a helicopter, but they learned that their help ultimately proved unnecessary because Goku finished them off without them.

Yamcha fighting See-Through covered in Master Roshi’s blood
Yamcha decides to accompany Goku and travels with him to see Fortuneteller Baba at her palace to learn the location of the last Dragon Ball to revive Upa’s father, Bora. Fortuneteller Baba does not give readings free though and will only do it after her five warriors are beaten. Yamcha faces her second warrior, See-Through the Invisible Man.

Unable to see his opponent, Yamcha is unable to land a blow and is getting damaged. Yamcha then figures he can locate his opponent by sound of his footsteps, which initially works in allowing to land blows on the Invisible Man, but is foiled when Fortuneteller Baba starts singing to cover the noise made by the Invisible Man. Krillin thinks quickly though; he asks Goku to bring both Bulma and Master Roshi to the ring and then flashes Bulma’s breasts to Master Roshi, causing him to have a massive nose bleed which covers the Invisible Man in blood. With his opponent now visible, Yamcha uses his Wolf Fang Fist and quickly dispatches him.

Fortuneteller Baba then takes the warriors to a new ring, the Devil’s Toilet which has a thin platform over a pool of powerful acid. In this arena Yamcha battles his next opponent, Bandages the Mummy, who is both a fast and strong mummy. Things look bad for Yamcha until he manages a quick sneak attack, tripping Bandages the Mummy off the ledge; though it is proved futile as Bandages the Mummy is able to use his bandages like a rope and climb his way back up. They fight again, and again Yamcha is pummeled until he is held up by his neck before being tossed down towards the acid. Fortunately, Goku intervened and saved him with his Power Pole.

Goku takes over the fighting at this point and defeats Bandages the Mummy with one hit, as well as the rest of Fortuneteller Baba’s fighters. It is not in vain for Yamcha though, as Master Roshi accepts him to become one of his students.

‎Three years later, Yamcha competes in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. While in the preliminaries he has confrontational words with Tien Shinhan, the prize student of a rival school, who mocks Yamcha and claims to destroy Yamcha in the ring. When the finals are about to begin, Tien has his friend Chiaotzu use his psychic powers to fix the fight schedule numbering so that he and Yamcha face off first in the quarterfinals.

YamchaVsTien
Yamcha battles Tien
At the start of their fight, they seem to be trading an equal number of blows. Yamcha then attempts his Wolf Fang Blowing Wind, but it is beaten by Tien who parries the assault and counters with a quick punch to Yamcha’s gut. Yamcha decides to go all out and utilizes, to everyone’s surprise, the Kamehameha; this is stopped by Tien who reflects the attack back at Yamcha with a Kiai, making Yamcha jump into the air. Tien also jumps and kicks Yamcha, knocking him out. However, Tien does not stop at that. Tien then shatters the unconscious Yamcha’s leg with a diving knee attack. (Note that this is Yamcha’s only tournament match where he is defeated by KO rather than ring-out).

Yamcha is eliminated by KO and goes to the local hospital with Puar turning into a carpet for Yamcha to lie on. In hospital for the rest of the competition, Yamcha listens to the remainder of the fights on the radio, and manages to be there for the fight between Goku and Tien. When Tien wins and decides to turn over a new leaf due to Roshi’s advice, Yamcha is one of the first to clap for him. Later, when a reformed Tien apologizes for the unnecessary beating, Yamcha says bones can always grow back and that he awaits their next bout. The two then forge a friendly rivalry and promise to meet again at the next tournament.

Yamcha’s fight against Tambourine

Due to his injuries, Yamcha spends the majority of the King Piccolo Saga on the sidelines. He is powerless to intervene as first Krillin, followed by Master Roshi, and then Chiaotzu are killed by King Piccolo. Tambourine attacks Yamcha and they battle at the Training Island. In part due to Yamcha’s injured leg, Tambourine gets the upper hand, but Yamcha is luckily saved from death when King Piccolo calls Tambourine to go after Cymbal’s killer. When he learns of King Piccolo’s takeover of the world capital, as well as Tien’s seemingly suicidal mission to take him out, Yamcha joins in and races to the scene. He arrives with Bulma and Launch only to find it a desolate wasteland. They soon encounter a battered Tien who fills them in that Goku’s actually alive and defeated the Demon King (although they heard on radio that “a small boy” was fighting Piccolo and deduced that it must be Goku, Tien gave them confirmation); Yamcha then assists Tien in getting back to the Kame House to recover.

Yamcha trains along with Tien and the resurrected Krillin and Chiaotzu until Master Roshi informed them that, to be able to reach Goku’s level of power, they are going to need to find better ways to train than those available at the Kame House. After that, they all head to Korin Tower and train with Korin before each going their own separate way in preparing for the next, 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.

YamchaVsHero
Yamcha’s humiliating match against Hero
‎Yamcha makes it to the quarter-finals and must contend with a nerdy human named Hero and finds himself injured by what seem like accidental clumsy mistakes made by his opponent (like getting kicked in the kidney after Hero supposedly tripped, and landing on the back of Hero’s head, hurting his groin). When they both state that they will fight seriously, Hero proves to be a fighter in a class well beyond Yamcha and quickly counters every move Yamcha makes. In desperation Yamcha uses his secret weapon, the Spirit Ball, a powerful ball of guided energy. While it proves to be an effective attack, it is ultimately futile as Hero (who is actually Kami) recovers from being hit with it and knocks Yamcha out of the ring. At the end of the match Yamcha is oddly calm and congratulates Hero on his win. Hero says Yamcha has great skill and potential but needs to work on his focus and defense.
Yamcha can only watch from there on out, in awe at the massive power displayed in the fight between Goku and Piccolo Jr. at which he is powerless to intervene. When Goku eventually does defeat Piccolo Jr., Yamcha joins the others in celebrating his victory.

Yamcha and the rest of the Z Fighters get an experience of how truly powerful Saiyans are when they use the Pendulum Room to transport their minds back in time to Planet Vegeta 100 years in the past. Yamcha and the rest of the Z Fighters are easily defeated by the might of Scarface and Shorty, despite Yamcha firing his most powerful attack, the Super Spirit Ball during the battle. When they are transported back to the Pendulum Room, Yamcha and the rest of the Z Fighters feel incredible fear and woe, now promising Mr. Popo they will get as strong as possible to defeat Nappa and Vegeta. Yamcha’s fight with the Saibaman is quite fast and he seemingly defeats the creature with utter ease after evading its swipes from its claws, and smashing it with a Kamehameha from behind. The creature was now believed to be dead, as it was beaten brutally by Yamcha. But as a turn of events, it was just barely alive and gathered the remainder of its energy to leap and cling onto Yamcha and self-destruct, killing both Yamcha and itself in the process.

When a rebuilt Frieza and his father invades the Earth, in the Trunks Saga Yamcha is one of the defenders who prepares to confront him, though he is overwhelmed by the tyrants’ power. He is just as amazed as everyone else though when a mysterious youth suddenly appears and quickly destroys Frieza and his force. He listened to the youth, who claims that Goku will be arriving shortly and, after waiting for Goku’s return, witnesses their sparring in awe. He was then filled in by Piccolo, who could hear the entire conversation between the two, that in three years powerful androids will appear and kill everyone if they are not fully prepared; Goku invited Yamcha to train with him, but Yamcha refused, saying that he liked training at his own pace. Around this time Yamcha drops hints to Bulma that he is ready to settle down.

During this saga, Yamcha sneaks into the Capsule Corporation shuttle at night-time to attempt to train in 300 times the gravity of Earth, so that he can prove he is just as adept a fighter as Vegeta. However, after activating this gravity setting, Yamcha suddenly finds himself completely overwhelmed and on the verge of being crushed to death by the gravity. He ultimately manages to shift his hand to the control deck to restore the gravitation level.

During this time, he and Bulma breakup once and for all. After the three years, in the Androids Saga Yamcha meets Goku, Gohan, Piccolo and Tien at the location of the androids arrival. He also informs the group that the baby Bulma has with them is not his, and also stated that they’ll be surprised as to who the real father was (with Goku managing to not only state accurately that the baby’s father was Vegeta, but even reveal the baby’s name as being Trunks, to everyone’s shock). Realizing that they can not sense the androids after Yajirobe’s car was shot down, the group splits up and searches the city for them. Yamcha is the first to find them, although he is initially unaware that the two are the Androids until he spotted the older man, Android 20, having a Red Ribbon logo on his hat, and is quickly grabbed around the mouth by Android 20 (later revealed to be Dr. Gero), draining his energy and preventing him from calling for backup or battling them, although not before attempting to yell to the other Z-Fighters that he had located them. After Goku sees that there are two Monakas the other Z-Fighters scorn Yamcha, and Beerus starts to grow angry, but calms down when Goku praises Monaka for having the ability to clone himself. The party then starts.

During the baseball game between Universe 6 and Universe 7, Yamcha takes over pitching after Goku was nearly ejected from the game due to destroying the field and Yamcha debuts a new technique for pitching, the Wolf Fang Pitching Fist, the speed of his Wolf Fang Fist with the controllability of the Spirit Ball and uses it to near effortlessly strike out Universe 6 for the 1st half of set 1, impressing everyone, especially Bulma who begins to flirt with Yamcha again. When Universe 7 steps up to bat with Yamcha up 1st, who mouths off to Vegeta that he will not lose to him in baseball, Vegeta; who along with Goten were filling in for the missing Hit and Frost of Universe 6, pitches the ball into Yamcha’s ribcage and then berates both Yamcha and Bulma for flirting with each other. However this causes Yamcha to walk to 1st base, shocking Vegeta who thought the rules of baseball were to hit the opponent. Goku comes up to pitch next and both power up to Super Saiyan Blue(Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan). Vegeta pitches as hard as he can and is shocked when Goku begins to overpower his pitch, proclaiming that he put all of his power into it. When Vegeta begins to fire ki blasts into the ball to give it more power Yamcha makes a break for 2nd, which causes Vegeta to stop attacking Goku and overpowers Vegeta’s pitch but is caught out by Botamo who throws the ball to Goten but misses him so Yamcha makes another break to 2nd base but is struck by both Champa and Vegeta at the same time but still made it to the base and allowed to stay due to being attacked.

When Gohan hits the ball Yamcha makes a run to 3rd base but Champa again intervenes and stops Botamo from getting Gohan out and throws the ball at Yamcha, once again hitting him in the spine but Yamcha once again makes it to the base, proclaiming he will not lose at baseball weakly from the ground. Beerus gets mad at Champa for playing dirty and attacking Yamcha so the two gods begin to fight, with Goku recalling that if two gods of destruction fight all of the universe will be destroyed. Everyone runs to Bulma’s shield in an attempt to protect themselves except for Yamcha, who bravely makes a dash for homebase during the ki barrage storm that was flying off of Beerus and Champa, which the blasts were destroying the entire area. Whis and Vados stop the fight, saying that it is taboo for Gods of Destruction to fight one another and called the game off saying Universe 7 won. When Champa asked why Vados points to home plate, revealing Yamcha successfully braved the ki barrage storm, winning the game for Universe 7, but was coincidentally laying inside the crater near death in the exact same pose from when he was blown up by a Saibaman many years ago. Krillin, Gohan and Piccolo all pointing it out as a bad memory. Yamcha weakly says that he is going to take a different kind of walk off and collapsed from his injuries.

As a partial retelling of the Pilaf Saga, Yamcha’s basic history starts out the same (scared of girls, likes Bulma, and plots to steal the Dragon Balls), but diverges at a certain point. After hearing Goku is going to visit the Turtle Hermit, Yamcha tries to get Roshi to beat up Goku by telling the hermit that Goku plots to steal his shell. The plan fails due to Goku showing his purity by riding the Nimbus cloud and Yamcha retreats after Bulma gets close to him. In the next Part of his plan, Yamcha raids King Gurumes for the remaining six Dragon Balls and other valuables. The desert bandit rides up the castle walls with the Silverstar 4 while simultaneously avoiding gunfire. At the top, Yamcha effortlessly simultaneously defeats six of King Gurumes’ soldiers with nunchucks and then runs into a room full of blood rubies. Yamcha and Puar stuff their pockets with rubies and while exiting come across Oolong and Bulma. There is no time to say hello as an armed Raven bursts into the scene and riddles Yamcha’s chest with bullets seemingly killing him to Puar’s distress. Raven points her gun towards Bulma but Yamcha sweep kicks her as Blood rubies pour out of his shirt.

Yamcha fights Bora.
Yamcha appears helping Bulma in her search for the Dragon Balls located in Mifan, though Yamcha is more interested in entering the World Martial Arts Tournament located there, having always wanted to enter like in the main series. After saying hi to Goku and Krillin, Yamcha separates from Bulma and enters the Tournament. Yamcha defeats a giant called Gregor and moves on to face Bora in the semi finals. At first the fight is even with Yamcha dodging all of Bora’s blows and Bora blocking Yamcha’s strikes, but Master Roshi distracts Yamcha, causing him to cease his dodging and allowing Bora to knock him out of the ring.

Yamcha does not appear again until later in the movie when Bulma is cornered by Mifan troops, Yamcha rushes in and pushes her out of the way of the Crane Hermit’s Dodon Ray. Unfortunately while Yamcha got them both to safety, Bulma’s Dragon Balls dropped into an ocean crevice. Fortunately, Goku finds a way around this and Yamcha is present at Bora’s revival.

Yamcha in The Path to Power
Yamcha is a main character in The Path to Power, an adaptation that is a mix between the Pilaf and Red Ribbon Army Sagas. Similar to the show Yamcha attacks Goku (who is not hungry in this version) for his valuables and is winning but flees upon seeing Bulma due to his girl phobia. His affection for Bulma is more obvious, Puar getting him to admit she is all that is on his mind.

The bandits follow the gang north to icy weather by Muscle Tower, missing the desert heat Yamcha and Puar go into a cave to warm up with a family of bears. Still spying on them as they meet Roshi, Yamcha upon hearing about the Dragon Balls realizes with them ‘he could get rid of his phobia and “be with…..whoever he wants.” Unfortunately the gang is then attacked by a Red Ribbon Fleet, Roshi fights back with a Kamehameha (amazing Yamcha), but they are still captured by General Blue. Yamcha decides to make a rescue attempt by sneaking attacking General Blue, Bulma is so excited to see Yamcha that she yells at to him making the Desert Wolf freeze and lose his cover, both him and Puar captured with everyone else.

While in prison with the Gang, Yamcha mostly gets over his anxiety around Bulma, connecting with her and even sharing an accidental kiss after an explosion rocks the prison. Escaping the prison, Yamcha watches Goku’s fight with Officer Black and Eighter’s sacrifice. As Shenron appears, Yamcha willingly gives up his wish, as he and Bulma look into each other’s eyes.

Four years after Majin Buu’s defeat, Yamcha is invited to Bulma’s birthday party alongside the other Z-Fighters and their friends. Here he encounters Beerus and Whis, who are looking for a Super Saiyan God to fight with. Yamcha is enjoying the party. When Bulma is beginning the Bingo Contest, Yamcha notices that one of the Dragon Balls are missing. The last Dragon Ball is later found in the hands of Mai and Emperor Pilaf. Beerus eventually gets angered by Majin Buu because he didn’t share his pudding. Yamcha himself doesn’t take part in the fight against Beerus and is evacuated by Krillin alongside the other guests to safety.

When Beerus challenged Oolong to a rock-paper-scissors match, Yamcha gives Oolong a plan: he told Oolong that Beerus thought he was just a pig with hooves who didn’t have fingers. Yamcha speculated that Beerus would use paper, so to counter this, Oolong used scissors. However Beerus heard the entire plan and proceeded to attempt to destroy the Earth. He later watches the fight between Super Saiyan God Goku and Beerus while airborne. In the end, Beerus beats Goku, but doesn’t destroy Earth and goes home.

Power

Manga and Anime
Yamcha is one of the strongest human fighters on Earth. The fact that his enemies underestimate him at times actually plays into Yamcha’s favor, allowing him to catch his enemies off guard. Since his early appearance in Dragon Ball, Yamcha is shown to be a skilled martial artist. Yamcha was capable of matching Goku in combat and nearly defeats him in their first encounter (who was weakened from hunger at the time), whose power level was 10. When Goku trains with Roshi, Yamcha is far surpassed.

While Goku trained with Roshi, Yamcha had trained for a month in the wilderness. At the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament, Yamcha makes it past the elimination rounds and defeats most ordinary martial artists including Fighter 40. Yamcha fights Jackie Chun in the quarter finals, who dodges all of his attacks with little effort. Jackie Chun easily defeats Yamcha with a kiai.

In the Fortuneteller Baba Saga, Yamcha fights See-Through the Invisible Man, whom beats him up due to being invisible. However, See-Through’s only advantage is being invisible and he is easily defeated by Yamcha when he becomes visible thanks to Roshi’s nose bleed. Yamcha is defeated easily by Bandages the Mummy, whom dodged all of his attacks including the Wolf Fang Fist. After Baba’s Tournament, Roshi begins training Yamcha as his pupil.

Three years after Baba’s Tournament, Yamcha has improved greatly and participates in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. He is again defeated in the quarter finals, this time by Tien Shinhan, who also cripples him. However, Yamcha managed to put up a good fight against Tien who was equal in strength to Goku at the time.

In the anime, Yamcha is dominated by Tambourine in the King Piccolo Saga. He is spared from being killed by Tambourine when King Piccolo calls on Tambourine to find Cymbal’s killer. In the manga, Tambourine and Yamcha didn’t fight but Tambourine was going to kill Yamcha next and didn’t because he got the message Cymbal had been killed.

In the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, Yamcha is defeated in the quarter finals by Hero, who was really a Human possessed by Kami. Kami tells Yamcha that he has great potential and was impressed by his Spirit Ball technique, but he needed to improve on his focus and defense.

In the beginning of Dragon Ball Z, Yamcha’s power level is calculated as 177 by the scouter used by Bulma. After training at Kami’s Lookout for a year, his power level is 1,480. At that time, even though he is proven to be stronger than a Saibaman, he could not save himself from the suicidal Saibaman Bomb attack which killed him (albeit Yamcha had his back turned, and was likely caught off guard, which may have been due to his overconfidence in believing the creature to be dead.) Afterwards in the Other World, Yamcha trains under King Kai and in the anime, when joining forces with Tien and Chiaotzu, together they are shown strong enough to give a hard time to Piccolo. In the anime, in a sparring session on King Kai’s planet, he defeats Recoome, an opponent whose power level is at least 40,000, and had easily taken out Vegeta.

After Goku tells the others of the androids, he offers to train with both Yamcha and Krillin. They both refuse. Yamcha says that he couldn’t keep up with Goku’s kind of training. He trains on his own.

After three years of intense training on Earth, Yamcha has presumably gotten stronger in the Androids and Cell era, as Android 20 thought he was Goku when he first detected his power – though at this point Gero thought Goku had reached his peak in the Saiyan Saga. He is easily brought to near death in one blow by Gero (once again likely caught off guard due to not being aware that Gero was an android much less his true identity), and later utterly decimated by a Cell Jr. when the small Bio-Androids attack, and only survives because the Cell Juniors were suppressing their power as they were ordered not to kill the Z Fighters.

By the time of the Majin Buu Saga, Yamcha’s power had likely dropped considerably from its peak, as he had given up on martial arts after the Cell Games.

In several anime only portions of the Fusion Saga, while Vegito is turned into candy by Super Buu, King Kai suggests to send Krillin and Yamcha to fight him instead of Goku and Vegeta, implying they’re his next best fighters. After dying again in the Kid Buu Saga, Yamcha is shown training on Grand Kai’s planet where he is able to take out both Olibu and a Winged Gorilla fighter with ease (implying that he has at least kept up with his training and has restored his passion for fighting). He, along with Krillin were also strong enough to stay on their feet against Kid Buu after being hit by one of his attacks, the two also lasted longer than all of the other dead fighters. This is all however, anime only.

In the God of Destruction Beerus Saga, Yamcha was seen doing a mini training session with Piccolo. He also retains his superhuman abilities (such as the ability to fly), and admits to Beerus that he is still one of the strongest fighters present, and gave the God of Destruction a friendly pat on the back that causes the latter to stumble (in a comedic fashion).

During the Universe 6 vs Universe 7 baseball game Yamcha reveals he has kept up with his training but uses it for baseball instead of fighting. He created a new kind of pitching technique called the “Wolf Fang Pitching Fist” a pitch that has the speed of his Wolf Fang Fist and the maneuverability of the Spirit Ball. This pitch is extremely effective, allowing Yamcha to effortlessly strike out Botamo and Cabba and striking out Universe 6 for the 1st half of the 1st set. Despite keeping up with his training, Yamcha passes out heroically winning the game for Universe 7, due to the injuries he received from braving a ki barrage storm that was tearing apart Universe 7 from the Beerus and Champa battle.

In the Universe Survival Saga, when learning of a tournament pitting all twelve universes against each other, featuring the strongest warriors of each respective universe, Yamcha was excited by the prospect and expected to be chosen as a member of the team.

Secret Of King Kai Power

King Kai has a strong sense of humor, so much so that before he can agree to train someone, they have to make him laugh, and he tells very bad jokes. He possesses great intelligence and knowledge about the universe, and specializes in universal telepathic links. Even though he was already weaker than Vegeta before he taught Goku, King Kai is still a veritable library of skills, techniques and literally centuries of wisdom. He is very strategic and elaborate when it comes to planning, as evident during the Frieza Saga, organizing (alongside Kami) the transfer of all the Namekians and Z Fighters on Namek to Earth before the planet exploded. King Kai is a very eccentric mentor, as his methods training in martial arts appear to be very uncommon; such as making his student’s first two tasks being: catch his pet monkey Bubbles and hitting his butler cricket sprite Gregory with a hammer (the latter task only happened in the anime as filler). He can also be very immature, just like the rest of Kais, as he is seen constantly gloating to the other Kais about the strength of his fighters in his quadrant and bickering with them and insulting them as if they were brothers and sisters. He is shown to be very bitter towards Goku because he killed him, as he is pleased when Goku is upset about his comments that Goku will be unable to get stronger or fight if he continues to put stress on his body.

Biography
Background
Like all Core People, King Kai was born on the World Core. He became a Kai and went on to live on his own planet located at the end of the Snake Way in the Other World. There, he lives with a monkey named Bubbles and a motor-mouth grasshopper named Gregory, and he spends his time counting the blades of grass, contemplating the heavens, riding his Red 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop, and seeing how far he can pee. On his planet, he teaches powerful techniques such as the Spirit Bomb and Kaio-ken to those who visit him. The planet used to be so big that its diameter was about 100 times that of its current size and King Kai enjoyed his hobby, driving. Then, one day in Age 451, the God of Destruction Beerus stopped by and they played hide-and-seek (or a car racing video game, or Beerus’ dislike for King Kai’s food).[1] Beerus lost and the planet was destroyed by the peeved God of Destruction, so King Kai took a large leftover fragment, whittled it down to a sphere, and built a road on it so that he could have fun driving there. With the other Kais of the universe, King Kai fought and imprisoned the galaxy pirate Bojack and his team in a star.

King Kai’s first appearance in the series
When Goku is killed during the battle with Raditz, King Yemma tells him to visit King Kai and train with him if he wants to be strong enough to defeat the two other, much stronger Saiyans. Goku arrives on King Kai’s planet after six months of running on the Snake Way to train for the coming battle against the Saiyans Nappa and Vegeta. At first, Goku confused Bubbles, King Kai’s pet monkey, for King Kai himself, but the real King Kai informed Goku that Bubbles was just his pet. King Kai requires that Goku prove himself worthy by telling a joke. Goku manages to make King Kai laugh, but then King Kai learns Goku is not here to train in comedy. Before the training began, King Kai warned Goku that Nappa and Vegeta were stronger then he was, so Goku would need to at least surpass him if he wanted to stop them.

KingKaiKKP03
King Kai about to spar with Goku
As part of Goku’s training, King Kai tells him to chase Bubbles, who happens to be very fast and has adjusted to the planet’s gravity which is similar to the gravity on Planet Vegeta, about 10 times the gravity of Earth. After three weeks, Goku eventually caught Bubbles, which pleased King Kai. He then instructed him to hit Gregory on the head with a heavy mallet. In time, Goku accomplished this as well. Goku soon found that chasing Bubbles increased his speed greatly, and attempting to hit Gregory increased his strength massively, though it should be noted that the second task of hitting Gregory did not appear in the original manga (Gregory did not even exist in the original manga, with King Kai immediately training Goku directly after catching Bubbles), and was only in the anime. Soon before the Saiyans’ arrival on Earth, Goku left for Earth after being revived, with King Kai witnessing the battle. During the battle with Vegeta, King Kai begged for Goku not to use any version of the Kaio-ken beyond Kaio-ken x2, as he believed it would damage Goku’s body beyond repair, but Goku ignores his pleas as Vegeta gains the upper hand. Although Goku completed his physical training, King Kai sensed he still needed to work on his humor.

ZFightersKingKai
King Kai with Yamcha, Piccolo, Chiaotzu and Tien
Soon after Vegeta retreated, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Piccolo and Chiaotzu took the journey on Snake Way and arrived on King Kai’s planet faster than Goku for special training. King Kai warned Goku never to encounter Frieza, an intergalactic tyrant and (at the time) the most powerful being in the universe. Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu receive training from King Kai, with Piccolo opting out doing most of the training by himself (believing it to be silly and pointless catching Bubbles in mere seconds, compared to Goku’s forty days, since the greater gravity is similar to his technique of wearing weighted clothing, which he frequently does in his training). However, he was surprised to see improvements in the other three’s skills during a sparring match, though this took place only in the anime. As King Kai witnessed the battle against Frieza, the recently deceased Ginyu Force fought the Z Fighters (excluding Piccolo and Captain Ginyu, who were both on Namek and even had their own brief tussle) in training. The Ginyu Force were defeated by the Z Fighters and sent to Hell, which was rather impressive considering King Kai considered them to be most fearsome group in the universe, and at least five times stronger than Goku prior to training. This however happened in the anime only, and when considering that it took Goku over 150 days to improve to a point where he could defeat Nappa, the weaker of the two Saiyans that were considered to be nothing in comparison to even one member of the Ginyu Squad, it seems unlikely that they could have achieved such a dramatic increase in power in such a short time. However, it may be worth noting that they were able to spar with each other in addition to King Kai’s training whereas Goku was trained alone.

KaioSama.Ep.91.DBZ
King Kai before Goku decides to use the Spirit Bomb
After Goku supposedly killed Frieza with the Large Spirit Bomb, King Kai soon noticed that Frieza was not defeated as originally thought, and Frieza injured Piccolo by piercing his chest, then killed Krillin. This heinous action caused Goku to transform into a Super Saiyan. Eventually Goku, in his new form, overwhelmed Frieza, leaving him to attempt to destroy Namek with a Death Ball. Although not instantly destroyed (due to Frieza’s fear of being caught in its explosion), Frieza estimated that the planet would survive only five minutes longer. With Kami now revived, and the Dragon Balls collected, King Kai devised a plan to revive all those who had perished at the hands of Frieza and his minions throughout the past year. This would in turn revive Grand Elder Guru, who died because of the pain of seeing his children die by Frieza’s great cruelty. Frieza powered up to full power (half of which he was using prior to Goku’s transformation) and began to fight Goku.

HappyDayNKai
Happy King Kai after Goku launched the Large Spirit Bomb on Frieza
As Shenron resurrected all those who were killed by Frieza, Guru was brought back and so Porunga returned in front of the newly revived Dende. King Kai made telepathic contact with Guru to have Dende ask Porunga to teleport everyone off Namek to Earth, except Frieza. Goku interrupted, and requested that he, too, be left behind in order to ensure Frieza’s defeat. King Kai objected, insisting that Goku’s transformation had clouded his judgment, but Goku’s determination eventually prevailed. With their plan revised, Guru sent Dende to make the final wish to Porunga to transport everyone off Namek to Earth, except Goku and Frieza. After defeating Frieza, Goku flew to Frieza’s spaceship but found it was too heavily damaged, and seemingly died with the planet. Yamcha informed Bulma through King Kai of Goku’s death. However, Bulma pointed out that with the Namekian Dragon Balls, Goku could be revived, along with Krillin and Chiaotzu, who were both killed twice. King Kai then said that though Chiaotzu could be revived, Goku and Krillin had died on Namek, and as Porunga resurrects people to the location at which they died, they would die again in the vacuum of space if they were wished back. However, Vegeta suggested wishing Krillin and Goku to the Earth’s Check-In Station to the spirit world, then wish them back. They attempted this wish, and revived Krillin, but to the shock of everyone, including King Kai, Porunga states that Goku is still alive and refuses to get wished home.

He even cheers for the young boy to defeat Frieza.

Kami’s fusion with Piccolo had left the Earth without a guardian, and the Dragon Balls had become inert, so when Goku planned to travel to New Namek to draft a new guardian, he enlisted King Kai’s help in locating the planet.

Cell’s subsequent self-destruction killed Goku and King Kai (as well as King Kai’s pets), who soon realized that Cell must have survived the explosion. This event releases Bojack and his team from their prison. King Kai was very upset with Goku about being dead after he was killed by Cell’s explosion. With the help of King Kai’s telepathy, Goku provided spiritual support for Gohan, who had been forced to engage Cell once again. Afterwards, Goku tells everyone after declining revival that King Kai had also declined to be revived so he could guide Goku around Other World.

King Kai worried Goku will lose his match
Being dead does not seem to hamper King Kai’s affairs, except that it is the source of great embarrassment for him to his fellow Kais (although he was extremely perturbed at Goku for sacrificing someone as holy as he was for a measly insignificant planet like Earth). As seen only in the anime, on Grand Kai’s planet, a tournament is set up in commemoration of King Kai’s death. Here, King Kai is revealed to be the North Kai.

HappyNKai
King Kai cheering Goku on
During this Other World Tournament, it is shown that King Kai’s best fighter, aside from Goku, is Olibu. Goku and Pikkon, the student of King Kai’s rival West Kai, make it to the finals. Goku seemingly emerges victorious, until Grand Kai disqualifies them both for touching the ceiling. Comically, he and West Kai make a bet on Goku and Pikkon’s match: if Pikkon wins, King Kai will become West Kai’s servant, but if Goku wins, King Kai will get West Kai’s planet for himself. Since the match ends in a draw, neither wins the bet, although West Kai briefly seemed as if he was prepared to go back on the deal.

King Kai witnesses the entire situation when an ancient demon, Majin Buu, is revived thanks to the evil wizard Babidi. When Goku decides to confront the monster to distract him, transforming into his latest form, the Super Saiyan 3, as Majin Buu and Babidi wreak havoc on Planet Earth, King Kai constantly pleads to Goku from the Other World not to use this form whilst on Earth as it will deplete his energy far too quickly and he will be forced to return to Other World with nobody to stop Buu. When Goku fires the Super Spirit Bomb, Kid Buu is still showing resistance, so the last wish is to restore Goku’s strength, and Goku then transforms into a Super Saiyan and pushes the Spirit Bomb back. As Kid Buu is destroyed, King Kai watches and expresses his pride at having been the one to teach Goku the Spirit Bomb technique in the first place.

Power
Anime and Manga
Kami says that King Kai is stronger than King Yemma who had previously proved too much for Raditz to handle when he arrived in the afterlife. However King Kai tells Goku that the two Saiyans, Vegeta and Nappa were both stronger than he was.

In a filler portion of the Frieza Saga, when Recoome (whose power level is over 40,000) tries to brag to King Kai the latter replies that “Recoome is not strong enough to handle him”, he later tells Chiaotzu that the dead members of the Ginyu Force are “not that tough” (despite that he himself considered them to be the most fearsome fighting squad in the universe) which places him at over 43,000.

Secret Of Kami Power

It is not known what the Nameless Namekian’s personality was like originally, but after purging himself of his evil counterpart, he becomes a normal peaceful Namekian known as Kami for the most part. Though he could count as a Warrior-type Namekian, he gives up martial arts almost completely after becoming Guardian of Earth (though, he later fights Piccolo Jr. as Hero and Garlic Jr. as himself). According to Korin, Kami does not like visitors and will send any rocket ship trying to reach him back (implying it has happened at least once). His need for seclusion may stem from growing up by himself in the remote Yunzabit Heights. Despite having a legitimate care for the Earth, he began to think all humans were selfish and distrustful as he watched humanity grow and rebuild after the King Piccolo wars, until he meets Goku, which renews his faith in humanity (despite Kami somehow knowing that Goku is not from Earth, though it may have been Goku’s love for his friends that changed Kami’s mind). Kami’s respect for Goku was great enough for Kami to see him as a potential successor and even offered him the position of Guardian of Earth after 23rd World Tournament and even suggesting that Goku and his soon-to be wife Chi-Chi could live together on the Lookout, though Goku ultimately refused, to Kami’s utter shock.

Piccolo (Nail and Kami)
Piccolo and the two Namekians who inhabit his body
Kami also has some complexity to his character, as even though he was the Guardian of Earth, he felt as if he was not deserving of the title. This is because King Piccolo and Piccolo’s existence relied on him being alive, leading him to want to take his own life on several occasions. He reiterates this to Goku at the end of the 23rd World Tournament, but through Master Roshi explaining how none of this would have been possible without him and the Dragon Balls, Kami is able to forgive himself and continue as Guardian of the Earth, until he fuses with Piccolo.

Kami still remained as part of Piccolo, and was noted by Piccolo to give him strategic ideas in combat (most notably against Imperfect Cell in order to get information).

At some point in his adult life, he arrived at Kami’s Lookout, the home of the guardian of Earth at the time and became his apprentice in hopes the aging guardian would choose him to be his successor when he died. Although loyal to the aging guardian and even successfully outclassing the Makyan Garlic who competed with him, he was ultimately denied by the old guardian because of his selfish desire to become guardian due to its benefits, and because of the evil that dwelled within, although the Nameless Namek was a majority good.

He finally became Kami after separating the evil from within himself in order to attain the position, forming an evil twin brother calling himself King Piccolo who shared a lifeline with him (if one died, the other would also). He watched over the Earth from his lookout during King Piccolo and his mutated sons’ initial rampage but eventually in a series of long, complicated circumstances they were defeated by the forces of Master Mutaito. He later created the Dragon Balls to give the people of Earth hope and encourage acts of bravery after King Piccolo’s reign, though he later regretted it until he met the pure hearted Goku.

Three years later, Goku arrives at the tournament and Kami enters as well, but inside the body of Hero, after realizing Piccolo Jr. is even stronger than his father now. During the tournament, Kami defeats Yajirobe and Yamcha with extreme ease, managing to completely dominate each battle, and embarrassing Yamcha in their match, however, Yamcha does manage to hit Kami with the Spirit Ball before getting knocked out, which surprises Kami. While he fights the two, he acts clumsily and awkwardly in order to fool the audience and not to raise any suspicion. After defeating the two, Kami attempts to trap Piccolo Jr. with the Evil Containment Wave, but at the last second Piccolo Jr. reverses it and Kami finds himself trapped within a Klein Bottle, but exits from Hero’s body so he will not be trapped with him. Piccolo then swallows the bottle, so that if Goku tries to get Kami out, Piccolo will die and so will Kami. Later, Goku frees Kami by tricking Piccolo into growing huge so he could go inside his mouth, and eventually defeats Piccolo Jr. Goku shows him mercy because Kami would die as well were he to kill him. Piccolo fuses with Kami
Kami’s role diminished greatly after the heroes return to Earth from Namek from what it had been prior to their journey, and by the Androids Saga, he was no longer needed for training or wisdom. Because of this, and out of concern for a then unknown threat, he agrees to fuse with the reincarnated and redeemed Piccolo to return to being the original nameless Namekian. The new Piccolo would go on to fight Cell, but never manages to kill him through various complicated events. Because he is a Namekian, he also has the ability to create Dragon Balls, but this is not a skill that most Guardians would have.

After Kami fuses with Piccolo, the post of Kami on Earth is left vacant for a time until Goku goes to New Namek and recruits Dende to serve as the planet’s new Kami.

Despite being essentially a god, the person who acts as Kami is not necessarily supremely powerful. Kami was the strongest fighter in the series during and after King Piccolo’s final rampage that was ended by Goku, but by the time Vegeta came to Earth, virtually all of the main Z Fighters and their enemies are more powerful than Kami and his role becomes more of a support one at best. Piccolo even remarks once, “the only reason you even exist now is for the Dragon Balls”.

Power
Manga and Anime
In Dragon Ball, Kami is stated to be more powerful than Mr. Popo, who easily defeats Goku who at that point had defeated King Piccolo. Kami also easily flicks Goku away with his mere finger, and Kami tells Piccolo Jr. that King Piccolo was “always the weaker half” while fighting in the 23rd World Tournament, and is able to hold his own against Piccolo while possessing a weaker body. However, Kami also states during Goku’s battle against Piccolo that Goku had surpassed him. Thus, Kami is stronger than King Piccolo and Mr. Popo but weaker than Goku had been at the 23rd World Tournament. Guru notes that the Nameless Namekian splitting in two halved his power.

Films
In Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone, Kami battles an untransformed Garlic Jr and is only able to briefly hold his own against him before being beaten.

Statements by authors and guidebooks
In an issue of Weekly Jump, his power level when meeting Goku is placed at 220, which is weaker than King Piccolo’s 260 when his youth is restored.[1] The movie pamphlet for Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might states that Kami has a power level of 400.

Techniques
Flight – Kami can fly by simply controlling his energy and push out ki from underneath, as he was seen doing in Hero’s body in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.
Godly ki sense – As the Guardian of Earth, Kami possesses the ability to sense godly ki.
Afterimage Technique – Kami used this against Piccolo while possessing Hero.
Energy Cannon – Kami can shoot a visible blast of energy from his palm.
KamiEyeBeam
Kami’s eye laser
Eye Lasers – A thin laser-like beam is shot from both eyes.
Explosive Wave – Kami uses this against Garlic Jr. in Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone and the Garlic Jr. Saga.
Explosive God Wave (Bakurikishinha) – The super attack of young Kami, it is the positive counterpart of the Explosive Demon Wave.
Exploding Wave – An invisible ki blast of a sudden wind attack that can be launched theoretically from any part of the body. Kami used this against Piccolo while possessing Hero.
Evil Containment Wave – Kami attempted this technique to seal Piccolo Jr. in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament but ended up sealed himself by Piccolo Jr.’s Evil Containment Wave.
Finger Beam – Kami can shoot an energy blast from his index finger. Called “Ryu Jin Koudan” in Dragon Ball Heroes
Magic Materialization – The Dragon Clan’s ability to create objects from nothing. Kami uses this to restore Goku’s clothes that were wrecked by Piccolo Jr. in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, he proved skilled enough with this ability to create a moon years after the previous one was destroyed by Roshi. Prodigies from the Dragon Clans also have the ability to create Dragon Balls.[2] Kami used this to create the Earth’s Dragon Balls giving life to the Eternal Dragon Shenron. After creating the Dragon Balls, if the creator dies (or fuses with another Namekian) the Dragon Balls are rendered inert until the creator is either resurrected or the Dragon Balls restored by another Dragon Clan member.
Resurrection – If Shenron is killed, Kami is capable of reviving him once his stone figure has been fixed. Used by Kami to resurrect Shenron after he was killed by King Piccolo’s Mouth Energy Wave.
Instantaneous Movement – A technique that allows its user to instantly teleport to another planet, place or person. Kami uses this technique to transport people from the Other World to the living world. Also called Kai Kai.
Kami'sSuicide
Kami’s Self Destruction
Self Destruction – Kami can convert his life force into energy to create a powerful explosion that can range for miles; he tries to use this on Garlic Jr. but stops due to Piccolo and Goku’s intervention.
Telepathy – The ability to channel one’s thoughts to another being.
Far-Seeing Arts[3] – Technique which allows those who live in the godly realms to see everything that happen in the lower realms. He often uses this technique to watch the earthlings from Kami’s Lookout at top of the Korin Tower.
Possession – Kami was able to overshadow, or otherwise control Hero so as to disguise himself during the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.
Namekian Fusion – In the manga and anime Kami uses this to fuse with Piccolo. In the Dragon Ball Collectible Card Game Kami can fuse with any in-game Namekian, thus becoming a Super Namek if he fuses with Piccolo or King Piccolo. In Xenoverse, Percel mentions a timeline where King Piccolo somehow managed to fuse with Kami, causing King Piccolo to become a Super Namek capable of producing Mutated Namekians powerful enough to wage war with the Red Ribbon Androids and Babidi’s Forces in a three-way war.It is not known what the Nameless Namekian’s personality was like originally, but after purging himself of his evil counterpart, he becomes a normal peaceful Namekian known as Kami for the most part. Shortly after Goku arrives at Kami’s mysterious lookout and meets his loyal servant Mr. Popo. Kami agrees to meet with Goku without the long rigorous training required to beat Mr. Popo and, upon seeing Kami, Goku mistakes him for King Piccolo and charges at him, but Kami merely flicks him away. After explaining his origins, Kami, as a reward to Goku for defeating Piccolo, revives Shenron so that all the innocents killed by Piccolo and his sons can be removed from limbo and brought back to life, but then informs Goku he must train under him for three years in order to defeat Piccolo Jr. who would be seeking to challenge him at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.

Kami and Goku before parting ways at the conclusion of Dragon Ball
During this period, Kami restores the moon, which had been destroyed by Master Roshi six years earlier, and permanently removes Goku’s tail. Eight years later, Piccolo would destroy the moon again. It is also during this period that Goku receives the weighted undershirt, wristbands, and boots that he wears for the rest of the series and the majority of Dragon Ball Z.

Still full of guilt, Kami offers Goku his position, but Goku declines to keep his promise to marry Chi-Chi and flies off on Nimbus with her.

Five years later, Kami continues to watch over the Earth, and it appears Goku and Piccolo clashing once again is inevitable, but one day a mysterious alien named Raditz lands on earth in search of his brother, Kakarot. Raditz’s power and aspirations are even worse than Piccolo’s, in that Raditz is far stronger and could also destroy the Earth, rather than make it his kingdom like Piccolo aspired to. Eventually with Goku’s help, who had to sacrifice himself as a result, and an intervention from his son Gohan, Piccolo defeats Raditz. After learning two even more powerful Saiyans are on their way to Earth, Kami brings Goku to King Yemma’s office and is able to get him training with King Kai, the king of the Northern Quadrant of the universe who lives in the Other World on his personal planet at the end of the Snake Way. Kami trains Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Chiaotzu and Yajirobe for the fight as well. During the initial struggle with Vegeta and Nappa, Piccolo is killed when he sacrifices himself to save Gohan, and Kami dies soon after. Goku eventually arrives back on Earth and narrowly saves it from Vegeta, but in the end, lets him live.

Kami remains dead until the Frieza Saga. After his revival, as well as during the destruction of the planet Namek, he is briefed on the plan to evacuate everyone except Frieza from Namek by collecting the Earth Dragon Balls, and then wishing for everyone who was killed by Frieza and his army, whether directly or indirectly, and then wishing them to Earth. In addition, he inadvertently revealed to King Kai, when he contacted him on a pressing matter, that Piccolo was not only alive, but Planet Namek was not quite as destroyed as initially believed.

Afterwards, Kami was captured by the released Garlic Jr., and imprisoned in a container. He remained in there until Piccolo seized on the opportunity to shatter their prison (Piccolo faked being under the influence of the Black Water Mist in order to lure Garlic Jr to get him close enough to the container to free them). Afterwards, he went deep into the lookout to use the Sacred Water to counteract the Black Water Mist before it permanently brainwashed the populace to Garlic Jr.’s side, although not without nearly being killed by the previous guardians, and Piccolo with him, in the process.

In Xenoverse, Percel mentions a timeline where King Piccolo somehow managed to fuse with Kami, causing King Piccolo to become a Super Namek capable of producing Mutated Namekians powerful enough to wage war with the Red Ribbon Androids and Babidi’s Forces in a three-way war.
